Sara Hirshman

Sara Hirshman received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida. She is currently a second year Osteopathic Medical Student at A.T. Still University – School of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-SOMA) in Mesa, Arizona. Due to the unique 1+3 curriculum model at ATSU-SOMA, she will spend the next three years training at a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (CHCs) in Portland, Oregon. Sara was originally drawn to ATSU-SOMA for its dedication to osteopathic practice and principles, and the schools’ mission serve the medically underserved.

Ms. Hirshman has been an advocate for her medical school classmates since her first year on campus, when she was elected as the Student Government Association’s Class of 2025 Curriculum Committee Student Representative. She now serves as Vice President for the Class of 2025. Sara is honored to serve AMSA and its members as the next National Chair of the Medical Education Committee. She believes in the power of teamwork and collaboration, and has a history of successfully executing high-level and complex projects. Her interests include the intersection of advocacy, medicine, and education. She is looking forward to the year ahead, and intends to focus on the cost and affordability of medical school education across the country.
