Tyra-Lee Brett

Tyra-Lee Brett recently emigrated to the USA from Johannesburg, South Africa. She attends Hillsborough Community college where she is the president for their AMSA chapter. She is currently studying Biomedical Sciences, as her pre-med major and is in the FUSE program to graduate form the University of South Florida. Her medical career goal is to become an Emergency Medicine physician, and Trauma surgeon. After attending AMSACon 2021, only a month into her AMSA national membership, she participated in Advocacy day for Environmental Justice, and fell in love with all things FAMSA. Due to her passion for advocacy, she decided to chose the Social media team in order to get involved with all the various areas of AMSA. Tyra is an undergraduate researcher at James. A. Haley Veterans hospital and loves all things sport as she is a Japanese recognized Black belt in Karate and has represented South Africa at two world championships. She also is a Personal trainer and a sports nutritionist.
