Vanessa Rave is a third year medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA. As former secretary of her local AMSA chapter, she worked closely with her classmates to advocate for issues like gun safety, reproductive justice, and community civil engagement via the Med Out the Vote campaign. Vanessa is passionate about finding ways to provide equitable, compassionate, and individualized healthcare to all patients, and by getting involved with the Scholars Programs at AMSA National, she has been able to connect with students and physicians from around the world to learn about these shared interests. When she isn’t in the hospital or studying, she enjoys going to the beach, spending time with her cat, and knitting.
